Yadira Regla-Cuevas was born and raised in the Coachella Valley. She has been married for 6 years. Yadira has two beautiful children Esmeralda and Ezekiel. Yadira was 12 weeks pregnant with Ezekiel when she received her first soft marker for Down syndrome. A few days after Ezekiel was born, Trisomy 21 was confirmed. Yadira volunteers her time with Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network Rockin Moms en Español, and serves in the board of directors for DSDN. She completed undergraduate at Notre Dame de Namur University and graduate school from Chapman University. She has a long history working with nonprofits and county agensies: Shelter From the Storm, County of Riverside Probation Department and Mental Health. In 2012, she became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She currently works full time with Desert Sands Unified School District-Mental Health Department. "I've been extremely blessed with the out pouring of support and love for my family. The connections and support from the Ds community online and in person has been instrumental in my journey. I want to help other families have a positive experience as they navigate their journey. My name is Kathy Depintor. I am a mom to Cecilia, 7 and Maya, 5 and a wife to Wellington. I spent the last 8 years in Brazil teaching English and teaching 3rd grade at an international school. We moved back to the Coachella Valley in July of 2018. I am currently a 3rd grade teacher at Franklin Elementary School in La Quinta. I love the beach and hikes with my girls. I have supported Ezekiel’s Gift of Love from Brazil and I am so happy that I can now actively participate and raise awareness for this great organization.
Zoe Gregor is an outgoing and active 20-year old young lady. She enjoys many physical activities such as dancing, bowling, swimming, baseball and basketball. She loves makeup, getting her nails done, going to the movies, music, and hanging out with family and friends. She currently attends an adult transition program where she works and trains at Kohl’s, Your Pie, and Mario’s.

Yanira worked at Indio Juvenile Hall as a Probation Correctional Officer for 8 years. She switched careers in 2013 and currently works for the Palm Springs Unified School District as a Behavior Support Specialist for Special Education program. "Working in the special education program has given me the tools that I need to assist my family. When I heard the news of the diagnosis of Ezekiel, I felt very blessed to be his aunt. I'm very proud and honored to serve this amazing organization." Yanira.
Alma C. Regla has lived in the Coachella Valley since 1970, graduated from Indio High School in 1981. Alma married her husband Benito in 1981. She has 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Alma retired as a senior child support specialist from the County of Riverside after 28 years of service. "I was blessed to have my mother babysit my kids and I loved the bond they created with her. In return, I decided to pay it forward by babysitting my grandchildren. I enjoy creating great memories with them." Alma.
David J Heil is married to the lovely Jessika Heil. He has two beautiful daughters, Gabriela and Daniela. He is an ISR Swim Instructor. David became connected to the Ds community when he was given the amazing opportunity to teach swimming to 5 children with Ds. David has had a big soft spot in his heart for them ever since. "I chose to be a board member because I felt honored for the nomination. I want to give my time to the foundation and the children because I want to see them succeed and have many wonderful opportunities and experiences," David.
My name is Cynthia Chavez. I live in Indio CA, graduated Class of 1991 from Indio High School. Married for 26 yrs & blessed with two beautiful daughters. I am a Special Education Health Technician for DSUSD. I've been in this field for 20 years, I love to socialize, dance & just hang out with the family. I love helping our community & I am blessed to be Ezekiel's Auntie. My greatest feeling is to see members grow up to become amazing adults & to let them know that we are & will always be here for them.
My name is Marisol Castro. I live in Indio, CA. I graduated from Indio High School in 1994. I am blessed with two amazing angels, Sunny and Andrew Segura. I am a caregiver for the elderly for 10 years. I love taking care of the elderly. One of the things I like to do is hang out with my family. I love helping and working with people from my community. I'm blessed to have Ezekiel as a nephew. Yes I'm his Aunt. I just love being apart of this foundation because I love seeing all the members with a big smile on their faces.
My name is Primavera Madrid. I am married to a wonderful husband, Carlos Madrid Sr. I have five children, Maximo Denisse, Miley, Carlos Jr a.k.a CJ and Josiah. I am currently a full time stay at home mom. I can't wait to be able to return to the medical field and use my Medical Assistant degree. I wanted to be a part of what was available for my CJ. I also want to reach and help others learn how to navigate this journey.
My name is Mara Pivnick-Thompson. I am married to Kevin Thompson. I have three children, Katie, Aidan and Gracie. I was a Para-Educator and previous pool business owner, but currently a stay at home mom. I am a certified ball room dance instructor and a certified Pool Operator. I became part of the Ds community when my daughter Gracie was born 2 1/2 years ago. I chose to be a board member so I could advocate and give back to our Ds community. Yadira was the first Rockin mama I met, and I was so scared and new to the community. She made me feel so comforted and accepting. That is a huge reason why I want to help other families.
